We have written countless blog posts about party themes, but we haven’t focused on one of the most neglected parts of the event or party planning process–the party favors. We aren’t saying that they are the most important but they are the icing on a cake. Why put so much effort and time into an event only to have a guest walking away with something less than spectacular? Like our elementary gym teachers said when we were running laps for the presidential fitness test, “You need to finish strong!” So here are some ideas for some goodie bags that are sure to kick ass without straining your budget.
Kid’s Birthday Parties–Goodie bags for kid’s parties aren’t hard to come up with because the craft you do during the party can be the goodie bag. Made finger puppets or baked cookies during the party? Great, put it in the goodie bag! Since the goodie bags are built into the part, it would be nice to go the extra mile on the actual bag. Or you could economize and have the kids make the bag too. Here and here are some more inspiring ideas for kid’s birthday parties goodie bags. Hint: kids love bubbles, homemade play dough and homemade chalk.
Weddings and Any Other Big Event–We got this idea from this blog. In the party favor world, treats still reign supreme. Present a popcorn bar at your wedding or event and your guests will compliment you on it the whole night. As in the picture, presentation is key. Don’t just buy some Orville Redenbacher popcorn, throw it in the microwave and call it a day. Finish strong and be detailed in your presentation. Vary the treats. Use a mix of generic popcorn, popcorn balls and caramel popcorn.
Casual Event–You are just throwing a small get-together but you still want to leave a lasting impression on your guests. Do something small yet noticeable with customizable M&M’s. Print your face, logo or message on these M&M’s, wrap them in a cute bag and you have a cute and personalized party favor! They are perfect for baby showers, corporate events, book launches, etc. They don’t cost much and your guests are sure to love them.
Are there any kick-ass party favors that we missed? Tell us in the comments.
