Now, we’re also here to tell you, this winter wedding idea isn’t as daunting as you think. Don’t lose your head just yet, you can still make it! We also know how merciless winter will get, so read on for part one of the quick checklist, in no particular order, to make your special day as painless and stress-free as possible!

Where Is Your Wedding Space?

Bring the love indoors, and opt for a wide, open space instead. This way, you’ll be able to create from a blank canvas! A space commonly used for TV and film shoots, 1896 in Brooklyn is the perfect industrial space to make your own winter movie magic!

For those who want a classic look, Alger House is the perfect location for you! Lovely wooden floors, and an easily convertible space, this Manhattan private penthouse can be transformed into your very own movie set!

Take the paperless route, with e-invites! We love Paperless Post, with the option to customize before sending online. Have relatives who will still need a hard copy? Paperless Post has the option for printing too! (Psst! For those on a budget, they’ve got over 600 free online designs you can choose from!)

What Will You Wear?

Trust us when we say, be the best you on your wedding day. Don’t overdo the makeup, don’t put your hair up in a bun if you’re not comfortable, don’t overdo the gel, don’t overdo the tan and don’t decide to get a haircut the day you’re saying  ‘I Do’. If you’re not fussed about the Cinderella dress, wear a tux! If Carrie (And Eva Marcille, as pictured above) can pull it off, so can you.

Sticking to the traditional white dress? You don’t need to pick something blue for your shoes, go with a festive color like deep red for that extra pop! As for our grooms, remember the importance of the right fit. Whether you’re renting, or buying an Armani suit, you will look your best only if it’s the right size for you!

As for your bridesmaids and groomsmen, choose the hue or color combo of your desire and let them run with it! After all, you chose these special few. Remember you trust in them!

Will You Need Chandeliers?

We’re all for gorgeous hanging chandeliers, but if you’ve got something else in mind, always go back to a Fiestah favorite. We absolutely love fairy lights! Hang them around your wedding space, and watch the room instantly soften!

If you really love the idea of flowers for a romantic feel, then get an expert like Rose Red & Lavender to help you out! Call them for floral arrangements, right down to wedding decor! (In case you need convincing, Rose Red & Lavender was named one of the top 10 Garden Stores in 2012 by Time Out NY.)

To top it off, illuminate the table centerpiece with a few romantic candles, or lovely custom designed table numbers by our friends, Surface Grooves LLC. The sky is the limit with their creations!

Who’s Capturing These Moments?

When the chaos has died down, and you can finally enjoy being married, you’d want to revisit the wedding and enjoy little moments you might have missed. This is where we recommend to go with experienced wedding photographers. You wouldn’t want your amateur photog buddies to be in charge and find they didn’t capture ‘The Big Kiss’ or ‘The First Dance’, right?
