A big hello, and welcome to Warmer Weather. There’s finally a logical reason to consume lush ice cream flavors, and icy cool popsicles! (But, do we ever need a reason for ice cream?)

We’ve got the lowdown on the five ice cream must haves and spots that you absolutely need to try to complete your summer! (Or to rekindle a much deserved, catch up session after the blistering winter.) Catch it all, after the cut :

Grapefruit and Strawberry Greyhound Popsicles

What’s a better way than to cool down with popsicles? For a slightly boozy good time, try the Grapefruit and Strawberry Greyhound popsicle recipe! You’ll need 8 oz. fresh-squeezed organic grapefruit juice, 12 oz. organic strawberries (medium sized will do) and 5 oz. vodka. Stick in the freezer, and hours later, get down with 18 yummy popsicles!

For a non-boozy version, add lime soda or herbal tea. Just as juicy and awesome!

People’s Pops Watermelon-Parsley Popsicles

If you haven’t had a chance to taste a frozen treat from People’s Pops at any of the city’s markets before this, then you should start looking for them at any of these spots! Since then, the good dudes of People’s Pops have since published their first book, with wholesome, organic recipes for icy treats (Psst: Buy it here).

For watermelon lovers out there, try the Watermelon-Parsley popsicle! You’ll need 1/2 of a bowling ball-sized watermelon, 3/4 cup simple syrup (or more, if you need it sweet) and 20 leaves of fresh flat-leaf parsley. No preservatives needed! For full instructions (and two other recipes!), click here.

Big Gay Ice Cream’s Salty Pimp

Some of you might the remember the fabulous Big Gay Ice Cream Truck, patrolling our streets a few years ago. Since then, Douglas Quint and Bryan Petroff have expanded into Big Gay Ice Cream, with shops in the East Village, West Village and a late Summer opening in downtown L.A.

Walking into a Big Gay Ice Cream Shop is an amazing experience. Who wouldn’t like unicorns looking over them, as they consume unique, and playful frozen treats? A must try at Big Gay Ice Cream is the Salty Pimp, with soft-serve vanilla ice cream, dulce de leche, some sea salt topped with chocolate dip! We love the addition of sea salt, which totally enhances the ice cream flavor. Don’t wait up, get to one of the ice cream shops as soon as you can!

In fact, get to all the ice cream spots we’ve mentioned, as soon as you can. Ice cream waits for no one! If you’re not willing to budge, don’t forget to use our service to call on Luca & Bosco and Alchemy Creamery for a quick, cool fix!
