Throw An Easy (And Last Minute) Labor Day Party!

We don’t know about y’all, but we’re really diggin’ the proposed agenda, in the picture above!

If you’re not in the mood to head out and deal with people, then let us suggest how to throw a seriously easy (and yummy!) Labor Day party. We’ve got a few easy recipes, without the laboring (get it?) at the grill, below!

Kale is either overrated, or you’re freaking about the shortage at your favorite organic supermarket! If you need another reason to consume kale, mix with fresh lemon juice, anchovy fillets, some Dijon mustard and extra virgin olive oil. Top off with grated Parmesan, and say yum! Full recipe here.

Mains: Buttermilk Brined Fried Chicken

Great fried chicken get a little help from a great brine, with the tanginess of buttermilk and aromatics like fresh herbs, garlic and lemon for that flavor punch! Remember to fry room temperature meat, or you’ll be dealing with lots of spattered oil on your kitchen floor. Trust us, we’re talking from experience!

This is the perfect fried chicken recipe, as you’ll only need one hour plus brining time to get everything ready for your Labor Day fun!

Dessert: Atlantic Beach Pie

Treat yourselves with this gorgeous sweet-salty twist to the North Carolina lemon pie, before we say goodbye to summer! Top off your Atlantic Beach pie with a generous serving of whipped cream, and a sprinkling of sea salt. It’s so easy to make, and enjoy! Full recipe here.

Drink: Blood Orange Mezcal Margarita

What’s a proper Summer sendoff without a (alcoholic) toast? Tantalize your guests with a sexy blood orange Mezcal margarita! Go tequila or go home. Don’t be intimidated by the recipe, it’ll be worth it!

Happy Labor Day, everybody!
