It’s a fresh weekend, and we’re ready to make full use of it! We’ve got a quick list of things you should be experiencing, eating and watching.
Let your weekend begin:
Brooklyn Zine Fest
Head on down to the Brooklyn Historical Society this weekend, and join the fourth annual Brooklyn Zine Fest! This festival is a hub to more than 150 writer, artists and publishers for you to discover. Browse through self-published magazines, attend panel discussions on generating ideas and helping with potential collaborators. Look out for a student section on Sunday, to see what they have to say about politics, photography and even pop culture. Get inspired! More information here.
Smorgasburg: Brooklyn Flea Food Market
Smorgasburg is back! Experience the best street food our great city has to offer, all in one spot. It’s at East River State Park on Saturdays, and Brooklyn Bridge Park (Pier 5) on Sundays. Come through this weekend, and spot our awesome vendors too! Get your buffalo wings on with Dan and John’s Wings, fresh oysters from Brooklyn Oyster Party, yummy sandwiches from Bombay Sandwich Co., ice cream from Alchemy Creamery and many more. It’s a gorgeous list, so one day is not enough! More information here.
Speakeasy Dollhouse: Ziegfeld’s Midnight Frolic
Had a taste of the arts and some seriously good food, and you want something more? Get your tickets and head on down to a hidden theater in the heart of Times Square. It’s another edition of Cynthia von Buhler’s interactive mystery at the Liberty Theater. Guests will be immersed in a space filled with lavish showgirls, aerialists and all that risque burlesque! You’ll lose track of time when you’re inside, amidst all the glory and gutter that created the American Dream. It’s an experience you cannot miss! Get your tickets here.
