We’re one sleep away from Monday morning, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a jam-packed Sunday! We’ve got a list of things for you to do this weekend, after the cut:
FKA Twigs Presents “Congregata” at Brooklyn Hanger, Sunset Park
If you haven’t heard of FKA Twigs, then get to know this goddess this Sunday and Monday night, as part of the Red Bull Music Academy. At first glance, Twigs can be clumped with the rest of the experimental R&B types permeating the scene. We’ve seen Twigs live, and we’re certain Twigs defy all the categories. This singer/dancer/producer/choreographer/director’s artistry will set the stage on fire, accompanied by ten dancers, costumes by Alexander McQueen and spellbinding visuals. It’s going to be epic! Tickets here.
Yoko Ono: One Woman Show 1960-1971 at MoMA
She may have the unfortunate title as The One Who Broke The Beatles Up, but Yoko Ono is a conceptual and performance artist before her celebrity status. The exhibition will feature eclectic installations, works on paper and audio that features her singular style. It also explores her “counterculture” participation in performance art and experimental films, including Film No.4 which centers on the derriere! Full information here.
Celebrate the northernmost borough with this 10-day festival, highlighted with a film festival, a parade and neighborhood tours. Another highlight for us? Sampling all the food from the area’s best local vendors! Head over and say hi to our buds at Bronx Baking Co. for fresh, chewy pretzels. Added bonus: In honor of Bronx Week, celebrate with free rides from Uber. More information here.
Happy Sunday, everyone!
