It’s July 24, and it’s National Tequila Day! We’re super stoked it’s a Friday too, so National Tequila Day really should be celebrated as National Tequila Weekend. While we’re not sure of the history behind this exact date of celebration, we’re just happy to celebrate this distilled beverage made from the blue agave plant!

It may be tempting to knock back a few shots after work, but tequila can be enjoyed in a myriad of ways. Have yourself a party this weekend, and check out how to integrate tequila into your servings:

Make the Perfect Margarita

What’s a National Tequila Day without the perfect margarita? We know the components of a classic margarita include tequila, triple sec and fresh lime juice. What makes it perfect? It’s all about the proportions, as the balance makes a huge difference. Bon Appétit has the complete breakdown on how to make the best margarita in town!

Tequila Dessert Bars

Infuse lime tequila into your dessert, and whip up Tequila Dessert Bars! You’ll need vanilla wafers, pine nuts, lime juice to incorporate with lime tequila, sugar and agave nectar for drizzling. We promise you, even the non-tequila fans might find these bars super delicious! Full recipe here.

Tequila Mexican “Hot” Chocolate Ice Cream

We can always count on our awesome vendors to come up with innovative ways to enjoy our food and drinks! Huge shoutout to the folks at Tipsy Scoop, who make crazy good boozy ice cream. We’re talking 5% alcohol volume per serving, so you’re in for a good time! For National Tequila Day, go with the Tequila Mexican “Hot” Chocolate ice cream, with “hot” chocolate and cinnamon ice cream infused with Patrón XO Café Incendio. How’s that for a celebration?
Happy National Tequila Day! Just remember to drink responsibly and stay safe, folks.
